One could assume that the peanut is a nut. But no, from a botanical point of view, the KoRo Peanut is a legume. In English, the choice of words makes more sense: peanut - which translated means pea cheese. But the Germans also thought about the naming of the delicious legume: Peanuts don't grow on trees, but underground. With their high fat content and the well-known nut consistency, the assignment to the nuts is not that far-fetched.
